aah Humbug

In case you haven't heard,....

today is always a sensational day for me. or, how do you feel when 1 of about 3 of your fav bands of like ALL TIME release a record situation? Humbug is released stateside today & these are the days where no matter what happens throughout, it has to be considered a good day-like vegetable pad thai w/that little side car of the hot red sauce--SMOTHERED!

ha-but enough of that mindless garble- today is a day for Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England (you're not from new york, you're from Rotherham-remember '06?) but the monkeys went plum out to the Cali desert for this one (& finishing the album in NY) & got Queens of the Stone Age frontie Josh Homme to prodice & what I'm reading & being told is a much more bigger sound & quite possibly a slightly different angle than their stripped down punky/funky debut (a total classic-that should have been in CAPS) but an album with a slightly darker edge than what we're used to.

& oddly enough, I've succeed in avoiding all d-loads & early leaks & have thus far (remember it's release day) only heard the album's first single Crying Lighting. WHich I think fits the mould of a classic AM sound with a slower pace & crunch to it. but love it & am excited about the album today because: I HAVEN'T HEARD IT YET! WHAT AM I DOING!??

so enjoy music today
