an interesting case study,....(but my total heroes)

in recent times & in recent popular music I keep stumbling upon different marks left behind by what I believe to be the greatest band of all time - The Clash - but seriously - samples, dub remixes, covers, (so on & so forth) keep popping up & soothing me.

take the following tracks as proof - Everyone's heard M.I.A's Paper Planes (right?) well that started before Miss M. was even born (I think, not sure her age) with the Clash's Straight To Hell from the Combat Rock album (1982)

see for yourself - also M.I.A's indie rock-chic-dub twin Santogold has tried her hand (with Diplo) at the Clash with their internet-sensation remix album Top Ranking, this time substituting Brixton with Brooklyn,...o.k. shutting up now,...

also relevant in the stratosphere is a meager & bland sample of the Clash's Rock the Casbah performed by Will Smith in great anticipation of the year 2000. Does anyone remember Will 2K?

apparently Mack 10 & Ice Cube teamed up for a stellar version of Should I Stay Or Should I Go, but this lad was unable to find it.

there's more out there i swear it, you can't be this important, culturally & musically & not linger around in music's past, present & future for the rest of eternity.

ladies & gentleman,....the only band that matters (& here to answer your questions)

unstoppable in every possibly way - whether in reality or dreamland - still the best, coolest, most original, sod it mate,....... culture, fashion, politics, totally relevant to society at the time & still to this day - i'll fight you!!
