(wwhheeww)
but yeah (no pun intended) the new Yeah Yeah Yeah's, It's Blitz! recently surfaced at the record store I frequent & can I say how skeptical a mate & I were before hand - & then simply this album that has thus far escaped words that I usually use for description - rock - dance - uurrrggg electronic-rickrock funk - amalgamation - with this slightly mellow pop edge????
any---it's there for all to hear.
& last point of pop culture -
i didn't rant & rave about Watchmen last weekend but I did take the better half on sat & was equally blown away by all things involved in that film - trying to find a minor flaw, but can't - & that film has such an incredible flow to it - with all the montages & mini-back stories we get. such romantic, gratuitous violence & the music & feel,..aaahhhh, just experience it, ok? done.
so to my main point & this film group we started lastie - still deciphering a name for said gathering but it's ok, these are good mates & they'll allow me to continue on with T.S.E, pt.___. (at least for blogging purposes) but we met friday & didn't i tell you so? unlimited success in all measurable categories. & i have this need to report whenever we get together & fellowship - at least in hopes of inspiring similar groups to do the same -
Pick #1 Hard Boiled - (ROBTRAIN). A 1992 Hong Kong action flick from director John Woo, starring Chow Yun-Fat. I assume for the most part my mate who picked this will remain in the Asian action -fung fu-body count- kick ass genre. which I'm totally ecstatic about because I love these films & rarely get an opportunity to check them up.

but quickly on Hard Boiled - widely considered to be one of the best in it's class & most influential of action films - it carries a body count of what I believe to be on or around 235. Incredible filmaking & direction from a total master & all on an est. US budget of approx 4 1/2 mill. Incredible. See what you can make with heart & passion?
so do well today in your pursuits & be safe & we'll continue this little journey together as we always have & one day we'll all meet up & be able to love each other that much more, until then.

So this movie club is akin to a book club but with films? Great concept!
