Imagine a long, slender, (yes) sexy train
descending down a slick, silver track
like a child on a water slide.
This train was made somewhere around,
or should I say, between 25-30 years ago.
By all accounts, it's not the best train available.
It hasn't won any "awards".
Do they give awards for trains?
It doesn't matter.
It is however widely regarded
(even amongst it's peers) as a
good, solid, healthy and at times,
"smart" piece of modern industry.
It's a product of its environment.
Occasionally, outside influences can
cause what's known in the train world as,
"Minor Momentary Derailments", or MMD's.
I suppose that these MMD's
are what gives the train its character.
Have you ever heard the phrase:
"On the Brink"?
One time a rock thrown by a citizen
of the local community caused the train
to temporarily derail. Another instance of
MMD occured from a tremor that stemmed
from a large earthquake the next town over.
It's obivious that these times of derailmet
are very shaky for the train.
I suppose what makes the train a champ
is how it corrects itself after these
MMD's. Some trains falter from the track
and cause mass destruction. Others
temporarily correct themselves only
to never take the track again.
Remember the next time you're on a
train, outside influence can cause
derailment.
